| Bio: | I've had friends on LiveJournal for years, and a little while back I finally got around to creating my own account. I started out doing this as a way to stop losing the LJ usernames of my RL friends, and to make it more convenient to see what they're up to. And then I started having fun with it, so I've started using it more and more. And depending on the date, sometimes less and less. I'm pretty spastic in how I use LiveJournal, really. Almost all of my entries are friends-only; I like to have some idea of who is reading what I write. I also use filters quite liberally. That said, I'm generally a fairly open person and I'm always happy meeting new people. Like my friends, my interests vary widely. I'm a student at Kennesaw State University finishing a BBA in Management, and then I'll be working on my MBA, probably through the University of Michigan or some online program. Professionally, I'm the geek gone manager type; though I'm always working on a couple of ventures of my own! My technical interests center around technological progressiveness (I'm far more interested in new features than in adding stability), mostly in the areas of Internet security and global-area communications (WAN/GAN/wireless/satcom/whatever). Depending on what group of friends of mine you looked at, you would probably assume right off the bat that I pigeonhole right into at least one of the following stereotypes: geek, suit; barfly, bookworm; shy person, party animal; introvert, extrovert; punk, prep; young, old; etc... the reality is that I don't really fit well into any one of them, but I definitely have tendencies towards all of them. My friends are the very definition of diversity, and I love them for that. I think I'd list some of my defining characteristics as (in no particular order): - well-traveled: I love to travel and meet new people and really experience new places. Expanding my world-view is simultaneously a spiritual experience for me and my way of making the world a smaller place. - passionate: I'm not talking about sex and romance here (or not just about that, anyways!); rather, I'm passionate about so many things in life. I'm the person that always has a million things that I want to do - if only I had another 2,400 hours each day in which to do them! I choose my work out of love, not out of money. I start up companies that genuinely interest me and that I can be motivated about. I'm not a morning person, but I love to get out of bed in the morning. - real: I'm not an asshole, a player, or constantly depressed. I am myself, though, which means I can be a jerk or a flirt, and I'm going to have emotions - just like anyone else. My relationships are typically long-term and tend to start out of some sort of emotionally/flirtatiously/sexually charged friendship, and I'm still friends with most of my ex-girlfriends. I have tons of friends, but only two people I consider best friends. I've dated a lot of people, but only really have three (maybe four) real loves. - diverse: I'm probably being redundant here, but my interests and friends come from all walks of life. My friends are male, female; straight, gay, bi (I am straight though, please respect that); redneck, preppie; jock, geek; black, white, blue-mohawked, and everything in-between and out across three dimensions; etc... you're entitled to your own opinions, but I don't really deal all that well with outwardly intolerant people when it comes to diversity. - spiritual, not religous: ah, the topic of many great debates. I think of myself as a very spiritual person, but not really that much of a religous person. I do think of myself as a good person. - I'll probably add more as time goes by.
